Overview

Six days lets you slow down and go deep. Two full nights in the Serengeti give your guide time to follow the migration herds and the big cats that shadow them, bookended by Tarangire's elephant families and the Big Five in the Ngorongoro Crater.

   Day 1

   Arusha → Tarangire

   Morning drive to Tarangire National Park. Afternoon game drive among the baobabs and elephant herds.

   Day 2

   Tarangire → Central Serengeti

   Long drive across the rift valley into the heart of the Serengeti with game viewing en route.

   Day 3

   Serengeti — full day

   Optional sunrise balloon safari. Full day tracking the migration and big cats with a picnic lunch in the bush.

   Serengeti — northern loop

   Head north or west to follow the herds, with a second full day of game viewing.

   Serengeti → Ngorongoro

   Morning game drive, then transfer to the Ngorongoro Crater rim for sunset.

   Ngorongoro Crater → Arusha

   Descend into the crater at dawn for the Big Five, then return to Arusha by evening.
